The Mission

Welcome to the home of The Butterfly Project, a series of recording sessions which I hope will each produce a batch of good, albeit simple, original songs. My approach to this task will be to lock myself into a room ( not quite literally ) and write & record at least 3-4 songs in a session. Each session will take place over a weekend, using as many hours as possible without completely neglecting my wife and new baby. This will commence on January 8th.

This approach is not in the spirit of college-minded, experimental douche-baggery. It is more of a response to the way in which I work; that is, I will only start and finish a task if I set a definite deadline for it and stick to it. This method also requires that whatever I have when my deadline hits becomes the end product. Period. Not that I won’t go back and change things later if what results is worth revisiting. But for the sake of making progress, I’ll let each piece stand as it is after a set amount of time. My sound production skills are minimal, so there won’t be many bells and whistles. Instead, these songs will likely consist of just a guitar and my voice.

I currently have only the recordings that you find on this site, but nothing produced in a real studio. However, a few memberships I have ask that I provide a source for purchasing my music. So I've created a digital album on Reverb Nation, or you can just shoot me an email or download them for free by right-clicking the song name and selecting Download Target or the equivalent command on your browser.
